Chainflip Development Update—November 26th 2021

It was just last month that I was bragging about the cadential consistency with which I inform you all about our progress, only to forget to write it a fortnight ago. If you want to offer your sympathy to me, I did have the flu, but I'll understand completely if you'd rather hold the grudge.

Progress Since Last Update

Development

State Chain

Preeeetty much all the chain's features are complete now, we're making some very small changes to how failures in MPC ceremonies are handled, but that's pretty much the final major piece of work which is being completed on the State Chain. We've finished up Backup Validators; Online Statuses; Vault Rotations; Signature Verification; Governance Transactions; and much more!

Chainflip Engine

We're in a similar spot with the CFE, the vast majority of features are complete, we're missing one major puzzle piece which is the rework of our p2p communications layer. This is almost finished, and as soon as it is, we'll be spooling up a network of 150 nodes internally to drool over.

Ethereum

All of the fixes which were recommended by the auditors are now in, we're just waiting for them to get back to us to schedule a review of the changes, hopefully that happens fairly soon. Otherwise, we're pretty happy with the state of our contracts.

Web

We're on the precipice of releasing our web properties, I'm pretty confident that you will love them. Our developers are hard at work integrating with the various internal networks that we've got going at the moment.

Goals for the Next Fortnight

Some quick bullet points about what we hope to achieve by the time the next dev update rolls around.

Development Goals

  • [SC] Resolve chain-halt voting issue in signing / keygen (rollover+)
  • [SC] Spool up benchmarking infrastructure
  • [CFE] Reserved peers p2p implementation (rollover++)
  • [CFE] Claim CLI QA
  • [WEB] Claims process QA

General Thoughts

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Definitely not terrified about the coming two months.

Until next time.
